Austrian composer Franz Schubert from the early Romantic period created nine symphonies during his short life, and the most famous of all is Symphony No. 8, commonly known as the “Unfinished”. The latter title comes from its two-movement-only structure, in contrast to the standard four-movement form of symphonies. Nevertheless, the work is noted for its unique aesthetics and artistic individuality, and is often considered the musical equivalent to the Venus de Milo. Director Lu Jia will introduce in detail this great masterpiece.
