Tung-Chieh Chuang is undoubtedly one of the best among the new generation of Chinese conductors. He began to shine in the international music scene in his early thirties, and had won various awards including the Runner-up at the Mahler Conducting Competition, Second Prize at the Solti International Conducting Competition, and the First Prize at the Malko International Conductors Competition. The western media acclaims Chuang “with sparkling spirit, extreme dynamics, dramatic sequences and lucidly rich colours, his performance is difficult to be surpassed.” In this concert, he will cooperate with two young and promising Dutch pianists Jussen Brothers to interpret masterpieces of the three great music masters of the early 20th century, namely Stravinsky: Scherzo à la Russe, Poulenc: Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra and Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet Suites.
