The Macao Orchestra concludes a fruitful season pairing Music Director and Principal Conductor Lio Kuokman with master pianist from Korea Kun Woo Paik. One of the world’s most celebrated pianists today known for his poetry and elegance, Paik performs Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor—surely an inspiration to any pianist wannabe, young or old. In the second half, Lio leads the Macao Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, one of the most beloved romantic symphonies, one that has touched the hearts of music lovers around the world. This Russian symphonic masterpiece has four movements, each a gem and an outlet of intense emotions, with a recurring theme that many people associate with “fate”.
