Trendy Belgium conductor David Reiland is Musical Director of the Korean National Orchestra in Seoul and Musical Director of the Orchestre National de Metz in France. Reiland will conduct Macao Orchestra an infectious repertoire, including Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture”, which is filled with intense contrast and tension, reflecting the tragic life of the play’s main character. Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 3 “Rhenish” will also be performed, with its cozy and moving melodies inspired by the beautiful, new environment enjoyed by the composer upon his relocation to Dusseldorf on the bank of Rhine. Macao Orchestra, teaming up with French cellist Henri Demarquette, will also present a cello concerto by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, in a perfect performance combining heartfelt melodies with dazzling virtuosity.
