Handel’s “Messiah” is always the classic of all oratorios throughout the ages. It is a monumental achievement in the history of Western religious music. The heavenly choral style, lively and vivid musical description as well as brilliant climax and ending are not only typical characteristics of Handel’s oratorios, but also have far-reaching influence over the later creations. On the occasion of Easter 2019, Macao Orchestra will perform an important excerpt of this immortal masterpiece together with the Taipei Philharmonic Chorus to celebrate and commemorate this religious event.
