Liu Meitong
Liu Meitong, born in Xinjiang in 2000, she studied violin at the age of eight. In 2012, she was admitted to the Affiliated High School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2018. She entered the Central Conservatory of Music with the first place in her major, During these ten years, she studying with Professor Liu Xiaolong and Professor Wang Changhai. In 2022, she was admitted to Tianjin Juilliard School with a full scholarship and studied with Professor Li Honggang of Shanghai Quartet. In the same year, she won the full scholarships from Peabody Conservatory of Music, Rice University, Northwestern University and Jacob Conservatory of Music in Indiana. During the period of school she participated in the Chinese youth symphony orchestra, China youth symphony orchestra and TianjinJuilliard Orchestra, as an viola principal. In 2016, she joined with Chinese Youth Orchestra in the European performing tour, She won the gold medal in the Hummingbird International Music Competition at 2021. In 2019, she was selected for the NYO Symphony Orchestra. Her string quartet is rated as an excellent group every semester. As the principal viola, she has cooperated with famous musicians such as Wang Jian, Lang Lang, Mei Diyang, Lu Siqing, Qin Liwei, Lu Shaojia, Shui Lan and so on. From 2021 to 2024, she successfully held many solo and chamber concerts. She joined the Macau Orchestra in 2024.
