Chen Chao

Mr. Chen joined Macau Orchestra’s double bass section in September 2014. He began his college studies in 2007 with Donald Palma at New England Conservatory, received his Bachelor of Music degree with academic honors in 2011, and Master of Music degree with Todd Seeber in 2013. The following year, Mr. Chen moved to Pittsburgh for Advanced Music Certificate with Micah Howard and Jeffrey Turner at Carnegie Mellon University. While still a student, Mr. Chen performed as a member of many regional orchestras, such as the Boston Philharmonic, Discovery Ensemble, and Boston Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Chen also participated various orchestra academies and festival tours including Pacific Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and Youth Orchestra of Americas.
