Andy Jong-Hyun Cho
Andy Jong-Hyun Cho is the newly appointed principal clarinetist of the Macao Orchestra. Prior to this appointment, he has held principal clarinet positions with the New Mexico Philharmonic, Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra and Lancaster Festival Orchestra. In addition, he has appeared as guest principal clarinetist with many orchestras in the US and Canada such as the Binghamton Philharmonic, Boise Philharmonic, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Hamilton Philharmonic, Modesto Symphony Orchestra, Quad City Symphony Orchestra and Windsor Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the New York Philharmonic, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
Andy holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Temple University, Masters of Music from the University of Southern California, Professional Studies Certificate in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and Doctoral in Musical Arts at the Rutgers University. He has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and has participated in Aspen Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, National Art Centre’s Young Artist Program, National Orchestral Institute, Sarasota Music Festival, and Atlantic Music Festival. His primary teachers include Wes Foster, Ricardo Morales, Yehuda Gilad, Michele Zukovsky, Anthony McGill and Mark Dover.
