Xu Yang

Xu began to learn violin at the age of five. He won many prizes in China National Violin Competitions. In 1997, his solo performance at the New Zealand World Music Festival marked great success; in 1999, he was selected to participate in a tour with the Asian Youth Orchestra to the United States, Canada and Japan in celebration of its 10th anniversary. In 2000, he assumed the position of assistant concertmaster of the AYO, performing in the Sydney Opera House in Australia; the same year, he was selected as one of the outstanding young artists by the Ministry of Culture of China and give a visiting performance in Taiwan. Xu Yang joined Macau Orchestra from 2003.
