Macao Orchestra offers additional performance for Japanese Drama Classic “Nodame Cantabile Music Concert”, due to public demand

The Japanese Drama Classic “Nodame Cantabile Music Concert”, presented by the Macao Orchestra, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, to be held on 11 February, has been enthusiastically sought-after by the public. Tickets for the concert were sold out after going on sale. Considering the high public demand, the Macao Orchestra offers an additional concert on 10 February, at 8pm. Tickets for this additional concert are available through the Macau Ticketing Network from 16 January. Should the music fans have not bought the tickets, this is a golden opportunity not to be missed.

In this concert, the Macao Orchestra will present the celebrated Japanese drama Nodame Cantabile, story based on classical music. The most representative music pieces are specially selected from the story, offering the audience the witty love story between Shinichi Chiaki and Megumi Noda or “Nodame”. Conductor Yao-Yu Wu, who won the prestigious International Besancon Competition for Young Conductors and became the first Chinese conductor to be awarded the honour in ten years after Wing Sie Yip and Shao-Chia Lü, in collaboration with the second prize winner at the Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD in 2011, the Chinese pianist Claire Huang Ci, presents the most popular pieces of the show “Nodame Cantabile”, including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor. In order to enhance the festive atmosphere, the concert will feature a photography activity.

The Japanese Drama Classic “Nodame Cantabile Music Concert” is held at the Macao Tower Auditorium.
