The Cultural Affairs Bureau and Air Macau joined hands to provide a total of 11 musical pieces by the Macao Orchestra and the Macao Chinese Orchestra on Air Macau flights starting from today. Passengers can access the orchestras’ music through the programme “Macao’s Culture” available on the platform “Air Macau In-flight Wi-Fi Entertainment”, and enjoy melodious music during their flights and experience the charm of Macao.
In collaboration with Air Macau, the Macao Orchestra and the Macao Chinese Orchestra will offer their enchanting music on each flight, allowing passengers to feel the cultural ambience of Macao. The new programme “Macao’s Culture” features “The Yellow River” Piano Concerto by the Macao Orchestra and the album series “The Charm of Macao” by the Macao Chinese Orchestra. “The Yellow River” Piano Concerto was adapted from Xian Xianghai’s “Yellow River Cantata” by a number of composers between 1968 and 1969. The music describes the magnificent scenery of the Yellow River. It was first performed in 1970 and was the most popular symphonic work in China. The selected version on the programme is performed by pianist Ju Jin, with a rich and magnificent artistic conception; The album “The Charm of Macao” by the Macao Chinese Orchestra, is composed by Portuguese composer Rão Kyao, and arranged by Kuan Nai Chung, combining the two styles of the Monte Carlo of the orient and the European style. A number of musical pieces including St. Paul’s Ruins, Lilau and Taipa, depict the beauty of Macao’s cultural heritage, allowing the audiences to enjoy a leisurely and beautiful life as if they were in the historic centre of Macao.
